Meauxmentum Strategies & Investments (MSI), the largest franchisee in the Chicken Salad Chick system, has rolled out a structured, multi-market community program honoring Susan G. Komen volunteers — a move that signals how large area-development operators are increasingly formalizing cause-marketing into their local-store playbooks.
The initiative launched September 25 with a volunteer appreciation luncheon outside Tulsa's River Spirit Casino Resort, where MSI's Chicken Salad Chick team served signature chicken salads, fresh sides, and desserts to more than 30 Komen volunteers. Additional appreciation meals are scheduled across MSI-operated units in Austin, Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Indianapolis before year-end.
The Operator Behind It
Meauxmentum Strategies & Investments functions as the shared-services organization for eight franchisee entities and has scaled to more than 137 locations across eight states — making it one of the more sizable multi-brand franchise platforms in the fast-casual segment. The Chicken Salad Chick brand itself has surpassed 350 stores in 27 states, fueled by area development agreements that have attracted operators of MSI's scale. Three of those units sit in the Tulsa market alone.
"Serving others is at the heart of the Chicken Salad Chick experience," said Devan Schuessler, area director for Chicken Salad Chick Tulsa. "We were honored to recognize the volunteers who give their time, compassion, and energy to support those affected by breast cancer."
Sheri Holdman, Executive Director for Arkansas and Oklahoma at Susan G. Komen, underscored the operational value of the partnership: "Sharing a meal together was a meaningful way to thank them for the difference they make throughout the year."
Franchise Development Context
For large franchisees operating across multiple DMAs, structured community programs like this one carry measurable local-marketing value — reinforcing brand affinity in markets where unit-level awareness competes with deeply entrenched QSR and fast-casual alternatives. Chicken Salad Chick's daypart focus skews heavily toward lunch, making catered luncheon events a natural extension of its core on-premise and catering channel capabilities.
The brand has consistently appeared on franchise-value rankings — including QSR's Best Franchise Deals list in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2024 — a signal that franchisee economics remain attractive enough to support operators building at MSI's scale. For multi-unit franchisees navigating community engagement across dispersed geographies, centralized shared-services platforms like MSI's give individual markets the infrastructure to execute brand-consistent programming without overburdening individual store managers.
The Tulsa luncheon is scheduled as the first of several 2026 events, with MSI committing Chicken Salad Chick teams in all five markets to the Komen volunteer recognition calendar — a model that could inform how other large-footprint fast-casual franchisees structure nonprofit partnerships across area development territories.
