Channel Push

Frankie's Organic Snacks, the Laval, Quebec-based oven-baked Puffcorn brand, has launched on Amazon U.S. with snack-size multipacks, extending a domestic retail push that already placed the brand in more than 500 Target stores and on Target.com. The Amazon debut, which went live Aug. 28, adds a direct-to-consumer e-commerce lane to a retail footprint the brand is rapidly scaling south of the Canadian border.

The initial Amazon assortment covers three SKUs — White Cheddar Puffcorn, Himalayan Pink Salt Puffcorn, and the limited-edition White Cheddar Ghost Puffs — each sold as a 15-count multipack of individually portioned 0.5-ounce bags at $14.99. The White Cheddar Puffcorn multipack is exclusive to Amazon, differentiating the e-commerce format from brick-and-mortar retail partners that carry full-size bags. White Cheddar Ghost Puffs will also appear on Thrive Market through the fall while supplies last.

Format Strategy

The 0.5-ounce portion format is a deliberate departure from Frankie's existing retail pack architecture. Matthew Bordonaro, vice president of sales at Frankie's Organic Snacks, noted that the multipack format addresses on-the-go and lunchbox occasions that full-size bags do not serve as efficiently. "The multipacks give families a convenient way to keep individually packaged bags on hand for lunches or snacking on-the-go," Bordonaro said. For natural and organic snack brands competing in a crowded better-for-you aisle, format diversification — pairing a club-style multicount unit with a premium e-commerce channel — is an increasingly common tactic to drive trial and household penetration without cannibalizing existing retail velocity.

The White Cheddar Ghost Puffs are entering their second year on shelf, this time with broader distribution. The Halloween seasonal, shaped like ghosts and carrying USDA Organic, Certified Gluten-Free, and non-GMO credentials, is an example of how emerging snack brands are using limited-edition items to generate incremental consumer engagement and retail sell-in conversations. Bordonaro described the LTO strategy as giving the brand "room to have fun" while creating a discovery moment for new shoppers.

Organic Snack Context

Frankie's expansion into U.S. e-commerce comes as the better-for-you snack segment continues to attract shelf space from major retailers and platform attention from Amazon's grocery and natural-food categories. The brand, founded in 2018, already operates across more than 5,000 locations in Canada. Its U.S. growth arc — from specialty to Target to Amazon within a compressed timeline — tracks a pattern seen among other emerging organic snack brands that use natural-channel credibility to unlock mass and digital distribution. For foodservice-adjacent snack suppliers and ingredient buyers, Frankie's oven-baked, avocado-oil formulation and clean-label positioning reflect ongoing operator and retail demand for snacks that carry recognizable ingredient decks and third-party certifications.

The brand's Amazon launch also speaks to the broader trend of better-for-you snack brands using marketplace platforms to test SKU resonance and gather purchase data before committing to deeper retail distribution agreements.
