The Anniversary Push
Peter Piper Pizza, the CEC Entertainment-owned family dining and entertainment chain, is marking its 53rd anniversary with a layered promotional campaign targeting repeat visits and incremental spend — a collectible FunPass card, a returning limited-time pizza, new menu items, and a broad arcade refresh across its Southwest-concentrated unit base.
The centerpiece is a limited-edition, token-shaped FunPass game card available beginning Nov. 2 at participating locations in Phoenix, Tucson, Mesquite (Texas), National City (California), and Albuquerque and Roswell (New Mexico). The card, which mimics the brand's original arcade token, is tied to purchase of the Piper Savings Pass — a subscription-style offer starting at $45.99 for two tiers of access — and is available while supplies last.
The Numbers
The Piper Savings Pass is structured around visit frequency and in-store spend conversion. Guests receive unlimited visits for two months, 100 to 200 free game points daily, and up to 40% off food and beverages. Points are shareable across up to four FunPass cards, a mechanic designed to drive group visits and extend dwell time — key unit-economics levers for entertainment dining concepts that rely on per-visit spend across both food and game categories.
On the food side, Extreme Pepperoni pizza returns as a limited-time offer at participating locations, priced from $19.99. The pizza features sliced and diced pepperoni, signature spices, and a garlic butter crust built on Peter Piper's made-from-scratch dough. The brand is also launching seasoned fries in two flavors — Salted and Cajun — as a permanent add-on to anchor incremental attachment sales alongside pizza. The LTO is available for dine-in, carryout, and delivery, reflecting the multi-channel ordering mix now standard across full-service-adjacent pizza chains.
Arcade Refresh Context
The chain is adding more than 100 new arcade games and clawcade machines across all Arizona, Mesquite, and New Mexico units. Licensed IP titles — including Guardians of the Galaxy, SpongeBob Ticket Coaster, and Angry Birds Boom! — are part of the refresh, a tactic that aligns with broader entertainment dining trends as operators compete with Chuck E. Cheese (also a CEC brand), Main Event, and Dave & Buster's for family discretionary spend.
"For 53 years, Peter Piper Pizza has been a place for families to come together and make memories over great pizza and games," said Genaro Perez, chief marketing officer at Peter Piper Pizza. The collectible token card, he noted, is a deliberate nostalgia play for multigenerational guests while the game refresh and new menu items are meant to drive current-visit frequency.
With more than 115 locations across the U.S. and Mexico — concentrated in Arizona, Texas, California, and New Mexico — Peter Piper Pizza operates at a regional scale that keeps it distinct from national entertainment dining competitors. For operators and franchise development observers tracking the pizza segment, the anniversary campaign illustrates how mid-size chains can layer LTOs, subscription passes, and capital-light arcade refreshes to stimulate comp sales without broad unit expansion. The family entertainment dining segment continues to show that game revenue and food attach rates together drive the unit economics that single-channel pizza concepts cannot replicate.
