The October Offer Stack

Red Lobster is deploying a four-part promotional push this month aimed at driving dine-in traffic across multiple dayparts, a strategy that signals the seafood casual-dining chain is leaning hard on frequency and perceived value as it rebuilds guest counts under RL Investor Holdings LLC. The October lineup combines a short-window appetizer discount, a new late-night happy hour, an Endless Shrimp LTO addition, and a Halloween weekend kids-eat-free promotion.

The opening move runs Oct. 9–12, when guests can attach a $1 individually sized appetizer — Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp, Shrimp Cocktail, or Mozzarella Cheesesticks — to any dine-in entrée at U.S. locations. The four-day window is tight by design, creating urgency over the long weekend rather than training guests to expect a permanent price concession on starters.

Late-Night and Endless Shrimp

Beginning Oct. 12, Red Lobster extends its traditional 3–6 p.m. weekday happy hour with a second window running 9 p.m. to close, Monday through Friday at participating locations. The late-night tier carries $6 signature cocktails — including a seasonal Fire & Tide Margarita built on Cuervo Tradicional Blanco Tequila and Fireball Whisky, upgradeable to a Mega format for an additional $3 — plus $2 off select starters such as Lobster Flatbread and Crab Queso. Expanding happy hour into the late-evening window is a direct play for the post-10 p.m. occasion that fast-casual and QSR competitors cannot easily capture, and it positions the chain's bar program as a revenue layer rather than a traffic afterthought. Geographic beverage restrictions apply in several states including North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Utah.

Also launching Oct. 12, OLD BAY Seasoned Scampi joins the Endless Shrimp rotation, bringing the McCormick-licensed seasoning into a six-flavor mix-and-match format priced at $24.99 at most participating locations. The LTO addition refreshes a platform that has historically been one of Red Lobster's highest-traffic — and most margin-sensitive — offerings. The $24.99 price point and the expanded flavor roster represent a more disciplined approach to Endless Shrimp than the chain's prior promotional iterations, which contributed to significant food-cost pressure.

Halloween Weekend Traffic Drive

The month closes with a family-occasion push: Oct. 30 through Nov. 1, one full-price adult entrée unlocks up to two free kids meals for costumed children dining in at U.S. and Canada locations, capped at a $9.99 value per kids meal. The offer extends to online To Go orders via promo code SPOOKY26, with one free kids meal per adult entrée purchased. Bridging the dine-in and off-premise channels under a single campaign reflects the chain's ongoing effort to normalize digital ordering behavior among its core family guest segment.

"We want guests to have more reasons to say yes to Red Lobster when they're getting together," said Andy Pitts, Chief Marketing Officer at Red Lobster. The October stack is a textbook casual-dining value-layering approach: short-duration discounts on entry-point items to stimulate trial, then channel-specific offers and LTOs to build check and repeat visits. For operators tracking the casual dining segment's ongoing traffic recovery, Red Lobster's willingness to compress margins on appetizers and kids meals while simultaneously testing a new late-night daypart is a meaningful signal about where the chain sees its near-term traffic opportunity. How those promotional mechanics translate to comp sales will be the metric to watch when RL Investor Holdings next reports unit-level performance data.
