Tim Hortons U.S. is leaning hard into licensed-ingredient co-branding for its Halloween limited-time menu, adding TWIX and OREO tie-ins to its seasonal lineup effective September 30 at participating locations across the country. The Canadian quick-service chain operates more than 6,000 systemwide units in Canada, the United States, and international markets.
The LTO Lineup
The beverage program anchors the seasonal push with two TWIX-branded formats. The TWIX and Treat Hot Chocolate layers the chain's existing hot cocoa base with whipped topping, chocolate drizzle, and TWIX candy pieces. The TWIX and Treat Iced Capp — built on Tim Hortons' signature blended frozen coffee platform — incorporates caramel and chocolate flavors with TWIX pieces blended into the drink body and added again as a topping. Both formats follow a co-branded playbook that QSR operators have increasingly deployed to reduce LTO development risk by borrowing consumer equity from established confectionery brands.
On the food side, the Spookies n' Screams Croissant introduces an OREO integration: a baked-fresh croissant filled with OREO cookies, chocolate dip, and whipped topping, finished with powdered sugar and OREO crumble. Two hand-decorated donuts — a Mummy Chocolate Cake Ring and a vanilla-fluff-filled Frankenstein yeast donut — round out the Halloween-specific items. The Timbits Trick-or-Treat Bucket, priced at $11.99 for 31 Timbits, adds a merchandise-adjacent revenue layer; refills on the reusable bucket are available for $6 while supplies last.
Seasonal Strategy
The Halloween rollout runs alongside a broader fall menu that includes a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Frosted Pumpkin Cake Donut, Pumpkin Muffin, Cinnamon Caramel Apple Latte (hot and iced), and Apple Cider Timbit. Together, the fall and Halloween SKUs reflect a daypart diversification strategy Tim Hortons U.S. has been executing to build afternoon and snack-occasion traffic beyond its core morning coffee and breakfast dayparts.
"Halloween at Tims is all about the little moments that make the season fun — a donut that makes your kids smile, a treat you didn't plan on but absolutely deserve," said Maria Posada, Vice President of Marketing for Tim Hortons U.S. Posada noted that the Halloween lineup is an annual event with a consistent guest following, citing the Timbits bucket as a recurring draw for family traffic.
Co-branded LTOs have become a reliable traffic lever for QSR and fast-casual operators competing for share during the competitive fall calendar, when pumpkin-flavored items saturate the segment and chains need differentiated hooks. Tying up with Mars-owned TWIX and Mondelēz-owned OREO gives Tim Hortons instant shelf-recognition in the beverage and baked-goods cases without the extended R&D cycle of proprietary flavor development. The approach also mirrors moves by competing coffee-forward QSR brands that have built seasonal engagement through candy and dessert brand crossovers.
Availability is limited to participating U.S. restaurants; pricing and participation vary by location.
