Wilde Brands](https://www.wildebrands.com) closed a $40 million growth round led by S2G Investments on Oct. 22, 2026, giving the chicken-breast snack maker fuel to scale manufacturing, extend its product platform, and sharpen its retail brand presence after crossing $100 million in cumulative sales.
The Lexington, Ky.-based company now sits in more than 35,000 retail locations nationwide and recently opened a 130,000-square-foot production facility it describes as the only USDA-regulated salty snack manufacturing plant in the world. The new site expands Wilde's production capacity sixfold — a critical infrastructure lever as the brand competes for shelf space alongside entrenched salty-snack incumbents and a crowded field of protein-forward challengers.
The Growth Play
Wilde's core SKU, Protein Chips, anchors the portfolio with 10-plus grams of protein per serving derived from chicken breast, egg whites, and bone broth. The brand recently entered the cracker segment with Protein Crackers — also built on chicken breast and real cheese — and has additional snack formats in development aimed at broadening occasion coverage. The S2G capital will fund that pipeline alongside a refresh of the brand's visual identity, packaging architecture, and marketing capabilities.
Jason Wright, Founder and CEO of Wilde, framed the round as validation of a long-term bet. "We started this company to prove that protein snacks don't have to taste like punishment," Wright said. "Now we have the firepower to go bigger, move faster, and shake up a whole lot more of the snack aisle."
Category Context
The raise lands amid accelerating operator and retail interest in high-protein snack formats. Consumer demand for functional nutrition — particularly protein — has reshaped planogram priorities at club, natural, and conventional grocery channels, where brands like Quest, RXBar, and newer chicken-based entrants are competing for incremental shelf facings. For foodservice distributors and retail buyers, the protein-snack shelf is one of the few center-store segments posting consistent volume growth, making credible scaled players with proprietary manufacturing an attractive supply-chain partner.
S2G Investments, a multi-asset firm focused on food and agriculture growth equity, sees Wilde's retail footprint and expanding format strategy as the foundation for a broader snacking platform. Arthur Chow, Principal of Food & Agriculture at S2G Investments, called Protein Crackers "among my favorite CPG innovations ever" and said the firm is most excited about Wilde's opportunity as a scalable snacking platform rather than a single-SKU brand.
For foodservice and retail operators tracking the protein-snack category, Wilde's manufacturing scale-up signals an ability to support national distribution commitments — a prerequisite for chain convenience, club, and foodservice-adjacent retail accounts.
