The LTO Play

7-Eleven, Inc. is overhauling the foundation of its in-store pizza program, debuting a reformulated crust described as bubbly and crispy across its network of more than 12,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada — covering 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes banners. The rollout, effective August 26, is paired with three limited-time offers designed to drive trial and build basket across dayparts.

The new crust targets the perennial convenience-channel tension between speed and food quality. With a crisped exterior and airy interior, the reformulation is engineered to hold up under the chain's standard topping lineup — Cheese, Pepperoni, and a 3-Meat variety stacked with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. For c-store foodservice, where pizza functions as a high-margin grab-and-go anchor, crust texture is a meaningful differentiator against both QSR pizza specialists and supermarket prepared-foods cases.

Pricing and Loyalty Hooks

The promotional architecture runs on three tiers. A 2-for-$5 slice bundle lets customers mix and match any two slices through October 27. Loyalty members enrolled in 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards — a combined base of more than 100 million members — can access a $4 slice-and-20-ounce-soda pairing on select Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, and Mountain Dew products during the same window. The third lever is a $6.99 whole large-pizza delivery offer, available exclusively through the 7NOW Delivery app and valid through September 30, with convenience and delivery fees applying separately.

The 7NOW channel gives 7-Eleven an off-premise hook that most independent c-store operators cannot replicate at scale. Delivery typically arrives within roughly 30 minutes depending on market and conditions, positioning the $6.99 price point as a direct competitive jab at value-tier pizza chains during evening and weekend dayparts.

Operator Context

C-store foodservice has been one of the segment's more resilient growth areas as consumers trade down from full-service dining and seek affordable meal solutions. Chains including Casey's General Stores have invested heavily in made-to-order pizza as a traffic driver and margin contributor. For 7-Eleven, fresh and hot food — spanning pizza, chicken wings, and proprietary concepts like Laredo Taco Company and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits — represents a strategic layer above the traditional packaged-goods and beverage mix that defines most c-store P&Ls.

Brandon Brown, Senior Vice President of Fresh Foods and Beverages at 7-Eleven, Inc., framed the crust update as foundational: "Every great pizza starts with the crust, and our new crust gives customers pies that are bubbly, crispy and built to tackle any topping."

For franchisees and licensees operating within the 7-Eleven system, menu refreshes of this scope carry direct implications for fresh-food attachment rates and loyalty program engagement — both of which feed into the unit-level economics that drive royalty performance across the asset-light franchise model. The 7-Select private brand and loyalty ecosystem give the chain structural advantages in monetizing incremental foodservice visits that smaller c-store operators lack.

The pizza crust launch represents the kind of limited-time foodservice innovation that convenience operators are increasingly deploying to compete with QSR value platforms. As the c-store foodservice segment continues to professionalize its fresh-food programs, crust-level reformulations — rather than purely topping-driven LTOs — signal a maturing approach to product development at scale.
