The Menu Play
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is staging its most layered holiday LTO rollout in recent memory, deploying three Tiramisu-themed beverages, a curated Barista Edit menu of five drinks, and a co-branded merchandise line across its 1,200-plus locations in more than 24 markets. The seasonal offensive, anchored by the return of the brand's sold-out Tiramisu lineup, hits the broader system on November 4 — though Coffee Bean Rewards® loyalty members received early access beginning October 28.
The Tiramisu trio leads the limited-time offer: a Tiramisu Dry Iced Americano, a Tiramisu Ice Blended®, and a Tiramisu Latte with Cream Cap. Returning perennials — Peppermint Mocha Cream Latte and Winter Dream Tea Latte — round out the core holiday card, joined by a new Peppermint Matcha Cream Latte, a matcha-forward SKU that signals the chain's continued investment in the green-tea daypart that has driven incremental check growth across the specialty-coffee segment.
Barista Edit and Merch
The Barista Edit, also launching November 4, is the more operationally interesting move. The five-item sub-menu — Snickerdoodle Dry Iced Americano, Hazelnut Chocolate Ice Blended®, Peaches N' Cream Cold Brew Tea, Matcha Matcha, and Classic Iced Vanilla Cream Latte — is framed explicitly around barista craft and flavor discovery. For a chain competing against both Starbucks and a dense field of independent specialty operators, positioning staff expertise as a menu differentiator is a low-cost traffic driver that doesn't require capital investment.
On the merchandise front, the brand has partnered with lifestyle label Paul Frank on a limited-edition holiday collection debuting alongside the menu. The assortment — drinkware and accessories featuring the Julius character — ranges from a $9.95 Phone/Laptop Buddy to a $29.95 Pattern Tumbler and is available at coffeebean.com and participating cafes. Collectible merch has become a reliable secondary revenue channel for specialty-coffee operators; Starbucks' annual holiday cup cycle and Stanley cup co-brands have demonstrated that drinkware drives both in-store traffic and social amplification at minimal incremental cost to the unit.
Operator Context
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, headquartered in Asia and operating as a business of the Jollibee Group of Companies, has historically skewed toward an international footprint, but its Americas division — the unit from which Head of Marketing Dana Castaneda directs the seasonal push — remains central to brand equity and new-product storytelling. "From our Tiramisu beverages to the seasonal favorites you wait for all year, every flavor is made to bring people together," Castaneda said.
For foodservice operators tracking the specialty-coffee LTO cycle, the Coffee Bean holiday drop reinforces a pattern visible across the segment: loyalty-gated early access compresses the buzz window while protecting full-price transactions, Barista Edit-style menus offset commoditization pressure, and merch collaborations with recognizable lifestyle brands extend dwell time and basket size. The chain's scale — spanning cafes, online ordering, and a mobile app — positions it to capture off-premise volume that rivals are also chasing heading into Q4, historically the highest-traffic quarter for premium beverage dayparts.
