Florida's Space Coast Office of Tourism has launched the third edition of its Fall Is for Foodies culinary program, running through October 25 and activating more than 30 restaurants across Brevard County with prix fixe menus, limited-time offers, and dining specials designed to drive covers during the shoulder season.

Now in its third year, the program has grown from a modest pilot into a destination-wide dining event spanning markets from Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Village to Melbourne, Titusville, Palm Bay, Port Canaveral, and Viera. The breadth of participating concepts — ranging from casual coastal spots to Michelin-recommended tasting-menu destinations — reflects a foodservice scene that has matured well beyond its beach-town baseline.

The Restaurant Lineup

Price points across the program span a wide range, giving the promotion both accessibility and aspirational appeal. At the lower end, Wild Ocean in Titusville is offering a half-pound of local-caught rock shrimp with garlic lemon butter, corn, and tea for $15. At the top, Koko in Cocoa Beach — Brevard County's first Michelin-recommended restaurant — is presenting a nine-course kaiseki and kappo-influenced tasting menu for $95 per person. Mid-range prix fixe dinners cluster between $45 and $65, including a four-course menu at DiRoNa award-winning Café Margaux in Cocoa Village for $48, a three-course dinner at Rebellion Beachside Bistro and Bar for $55, and a three-course format at 28 North Gastropub in Viera for $50.

Cedars Café in Melbourne adds a James Beard dimension: the restaurant is led by chef Toni Elkhouri, a 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef South. The menu there leans into hyper-local sourcing and scratch preparation, with offerings that will rotate based on ingredient availability throughout the promotional window — an approach that distinguishes it from static prix fixe competitors and generates repeat-visit potential. Yellow Dog Cafe in Palm Bay similarly leans into local supply-chain storytelling, featuring vegetables grown in its own hydroponic facility across the street.

Why This Model Works for Operators

Destination-driven dining promotions like Fall Is for Foodies function as a low-cost customer acquisition channel for independent operators. By aggregating under a tourism bureau umbrella, participating restaurants gain co-branded marketing exposure without absorbing the full cost of a standalone campaign. The prix fixe structure also supports labor and food-cost predictability: operators can pre-portion ingredients, streamline prep, and staff more efficiently when a fixed menu drives the majority of covers on any given night.

For the Space Coast's independent restaurant community — which skews heavily toward locally owned concepts rather than national chain units — the program addresses a familiar shoulder-season challenge. Fall historically represents a softer traffic window between summer peak and holiday dining, making structured promotional incentives particularly valuable for sustaining weekly covers and maintaining kitchen staffing levels.

Peter Cranis, executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism, framed the program's growth as a reflection of the region's culinary identity: "Over the years, Fall is for Foodies has grown into a great showcase of the restaurants and culinary talent we have here." Village Food Tours is also participating, offering a 15% discount on guided walking tours of Cocoa Village and Port Canaveral, adding an experiential layer that extends the dining occasion beyond a single restaurant visit.
