Cincinnati-based Graeter's Ice Cream is pairing with Toyota to launch a limited-edition frozen treat engineered around an automotive feature — a cross-category LTO that uses the brand's French Pot® craft process to spotlight the 2026 Toyota Sienna's available in-console FridgeBox™ cooler. The Salted Caramel Chip Wheels, a riff on Graeter's existing Chip Wheelies line, hit graeters.com September 1 as a 12-pack available for nationwide shipping while supplies last.

The Product

The LTO sandwiches Graeter's salted caramel ice cream between two made-from-scratch double chocolate chip cookies and finishes the perimeter in chocolate jimmies. The format is a direct callback to the brand's established Chip Wheelies daypart staple — a product already familiar to Graeter's retail store base and its grocery channel footprint of more than 2,000 doors. The Salted Caramel Chip Wheels are sold exclusively through a dedicated landing page at Graeters.com/Toyota, keeping the collab channel-clean and DTC-only.

The FridgeBox Angle

The hook is functional, not just promotional. Toyota's Sienna Platinum grade includes an integrated front-console cooler — the FridgeBox™ — with dual settings: a cool mode for beverages and a freeze mode rated to hold popsicles and ice cream at temperature. That freeze capability becomes the narrative spine of the campaign, positioning Graeter's product as purpose-built cargo for family road trips. Owen Peacock, marketing general manager at Toyota, called the Sienna's FridgeBox "a fun, unexpected way for families to bring a little more enjoyment to the journey."

For Graeter's, the partnership extends a deliberate effort to grow off-premise and direct-to-consumer reach beyond the brand's 60 retail stores and existing grocery shelf presence. Richard Graeter, fourth-generation president and CEO, framed the alignment around shared manufacturing philosophy: "We see that philosophy in Toyota. The Sienna and Graeter's Ice Cream may be very different products, but we share a commitment to quality, craftsmanship and creating something families can truly enjoy."

What It Means for Operators

Cross-category brand collaborations — particularly those anchored to a functional product feature rather than a vague lifestyle alignment — are gaining traction across the specialty food and beverage segment as craft brands seek DTC volume without diluting retail placement or foodservice channel positioning. Graeter's move keeps the LTO off retail shelves entirely, protecting grocery velocity data while generating brand impressions through Toyota's marketing engine. For a family-oriented frozen brand with deep Midwest roots, attaching to a top-selling family minivan creates a relevant occasion: the road-trip snack stop, reimagined as a prepared, premium frozen treat stored in-vehicle.

The limited-supply, online-only structure also follows a playbook increasingly common among craft ice cream and premium frozen brands — scarcity framing drives urgency without requiring a logistics buildout across retail channels. Graeter's ships more than 300,000 pints annually, so the DTC cold-chain infrastructure is already in place to support a national LTO drop.
