Food and beverage processors facing capacity constraints without room to expand got a hardware answer from Hiperbaric at PACK EXPO International 2026: the Hiperbaric 525 with 12 intensifiers, a high-pressure processing system the company says delivers the highest cycle rate ever built into the 525-gallon platform at 10.7 cycles per hour.

The Performance Case

High-pressure processing — a non-thermal, post-packaging preservation method operating at up to 6,000 bar — inactivates foodborne pathogens and spoilage microorganisms without heat, extending shelf life while preserving sensory attributes and enabling clean-label formulations. The technology is increasingly relevant across protein, juice, seafood, and prepared-foods categories as operators look to reduce synthetic preservatives and meet retailer clean-label mandates without sacrificing food safety compliance.

The H525's throughput advantage is driven by its intensifier architecture. Each of the 12 intensifiers is independent and isolatable — a design Hiperbaric says is unique in the HPP industry — meaning technicians can service a single unit while the machine continues running on the remaining pumps. Because Hiperbaric manufactures its intensifiers in-house, the company draws on field data from its global installed base to continuously refine performance benchmarks.

Two Footprints, One Platform

Processors can spec the H525 in two configurations. The Standard layout places intensifiers at floor level alongside the vessel — suited for facilities without overhead clearance — and requires 1,000 square feet at a machine height of 8.9 feet. The Integrated configuration mounts intensifiers on a built-in mezzanine above the vessel, compressing the floor footprint to 940 square feet at 16.5 feet of height. The mezzanine approach frees plant floor for upstream and downstream automation, a meaningful trade-off as processors invest in continuous-line integration.

Existing H525 installations are not locked out of the upgrade. Current units in either configuration can be upgraded to 12 intensifiers, and Standard units can be converted to the Integrated mezzanine platform, giving processors already running the 525 a path to maximum throughput without a full equipment replacement cycle.

Ergonomic load reduction is also built in: a fully integrated return conveyor eliminates up to 20,000 pounds of manual canister lifting per operator shift — a labor-cost and injury-risk factor that foodservice supply chain operators increasingly weigh in total cost-of-ownership calculations.

The package includes 24/7 remote troubleshooting, field service engineers deployable within 24 to 48 hours, and four global spare-parts warehouses — in the U.S., Mexico, Spain, and New Zealand — each committed to sub-24-hour shipping. An Uptime Portal handles parts ordering, shipment tracking, and preventative maintenance documentation. Hiperbaric's in-house food process authorities also provide complimentary food science support, intended to cut time-to-market for processors developing new HPP SKUs.

With an installed base now exceeding 450 machines globally, Hiperbaric is positioning the H525 as the capacity-expansion answer for co-manufacturers and vertically integrated food and beverage producers operating in a tight-margin, high-throughput environment.
