Volpi Foods Lands Major Foodservice Deal With Blaze Pizza
Volpi Foods, the St. Louis-based charcuterie producer, has secured placement across all 250+ Blaze Pizza locations nationwide with a limited-time "Italian Escape" menu running through June 23. The collaboration marks the fourth-generation family company's latest foodservice push beyond grocery retail and represents a significant expansion opportunity for branded ingredient suppliers targeting multi-unit operators.
"At Volpi Foods, we've spent four generations focused on quality and craftsmanship, but we're always thinking about how to bring that to more people in ways that feel relevant today," said Deanna Depke, Director of Sales and Marketing, Volpi Foods. "Blaze was a natural partner. Our Raised Responsibly™ prosciutto—made from humanely raised pork, slow-cured in small batches—deserves to be experienced in an everyday setting, not just a specialty aisle. Together, we're delivering a genuine sense of occasion at an accessible price."
The menu features four items priced from $4.95 to $18.95, centered on Volpi's Raised Responsibly™ prosciutto:
- Prosciutto Pizza ($12.50 small / $18.95 large): White sauce, fresh mozzarella, arugula, balsamic caramelized onions, fig glaze, and prosciutto
- Prosciutto Pizzetta ($5.95): Mozzarella, gorgonzola, and prosciutto
- Strawberry Prosciutto Salad ($11.50): Seasonal strawberries, basil, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and lemon balsamic dressing
- Tiramisu Cup ($4.95): Classic Italian dessert
Foodservice Strategy Gains Traction for Multi-Unit Operators
Volpi has opened approximately 3,000 new foodservice doors through partnerships with Blaze Pizza, First Watch, and Texas de Brazil. The strategy reflects a shift toward making artisanal ingredients accessible in casual dining environments and demonstrates how branded suppliers can penetrate multi-unit foodservice accounts.
For foodservice operators and distributors, this partnership model offers insights into how premium ingredient sourcing can differentiate casual dining concepts and justify menu pricing. As consumer demand for transparency in sourcing and production methods continues to influence purchasing decisions, suppliers with clear provenance stories—like Volpi's humanely raised, small-batch production—provide operators with tools to communicate value to diners.
Market Implications for Foodservice Suppliers
The partnership reflects broader consumer behavior shifts in foodservice dining. Knowing who made an ingredient and that it was produced with craft and intent has become a genuine purchase driver, even in quick-service formats. This trend extends across casual dining, suggesting opportunities for foodservice distributors and operators seeking to differentiate menus through branded, story-driven ingredients.
Volpi said additional retail and foodservice expansions are planned for the coming months, indicating momentum in the company's multi-channel distribution strategy.
